The difference what law they followed. They killed people FOR BEING JEWS; he killed people FOR BEING MURDERERS. I’m quite sure that had Pierpoint been asked to kill someone for being a Jew, he would have refused.
You’re off your face if you think animals don’t kill members of their own species for reasons other than survival.
I agree that the death penalty has no place in a civilised society, but that’s not a good argument.
Alot of nazis could say that, some of whom Pierrpoint killed for following their orders to the letter. What also sets us apart from animals is that we kill members of our own species for reasons other than survival – is that a good thing? Because something separates us from other animals does that mean its good?
What marks us out from the animals is the rule of law. Pierrpoint may not have liked the law as it stood back then but he did serve it; to the letter. How many of us could honestly say that?
