Mr Driscoll,
I am eighteen years old. I saw a video of your sermon ‘marriage and men’ on the sunday evening of this weekend just been, at a Christian youth camp. I further live in New Zealand. This sermon has made a profound a impression on me. I find as a young Christian man, these desires to want to be all those things that entail a Christian husband, one who honours Christ in His marriage, they are worked up within me by the Spirit when I look to the future realisation of God’s will for me.

though simultaneously at my faults, my SINS. All such examples of chauvinism and cowardice, i find i can relate to in some way shape or form. And I am abhorrent, i desire to be the good and Faithful son God can be proud of, one whom he can trust with one of his daughters. This sermon, I thank you so, so much for it, for i know at least in my own circumstances it has impressed upon me. I know there are young men, my peers, who have benefitted as well.

I say all this to encourage you: this has been far reaching, and God uses us all in ways we cant possibly fathom towards his glory. Thank you for your faithfulness, in that you preached a sermon and affected a group of young men on the other side of the world. I pray the Lord would continue to bless your ministry, as he has blessed me through the good works he had predestined for you.

Hi, sorry to get straight to the point but here it is. I had to pick my jaw up off the ground after this–never heard a man speak this way. Amazing and I agree with every point (‘torment’ part is dead on, as is ‘that look’) but don’t believe it. Marriage as defined here is an incredible burden for a man–WHY would he ever desire it?
